    Kamile Matulaityte was born on the 28th of January 1987 in Kaunas, Lithuania. She was introduced to the chemical miracles of b&w printing by her grandad when she was four. A decade later Kamile started using a Zenit (Зени́т) camera given to her parents as a wedding present. In 2001-2004 she studied in Kaunas School of Photographic Art, Lithuania.

    Received a Canon AE-1 for her fifteenth birthday and continued photographic practice using 35mm. In 2007-2011 obtained a BA (Hons.) in Photography in IADT (Institute of Art, Design and Technology) in Dún Laoghaire, Ireland. The course familiarized her with a pinhole camera, enabled her to use c-type printing facilities and to learn van dyke and cyanotype alternative processes. In 2009 she took part in a group show ‘The Invisible City’ (Joinery, Dublin). In 2010 Kamile’s pieces were shown in the 19th century processes exhibition ‘Chasing Shadows’ in PhotoIreland’10 Festival (CFCP, Dublin). Recently she has taught herself 3CG printing. It is being used for the photodialogues with Kami’s loved ones creating staged settings of alternative reality in her kitchen.
